James Parker (EAL mentee)

James Parker (b. 1992) is a composer based in Austin, TX. James’ work focuses on the relationship between the composer and performer, asking performers to improvise and interact with each other or an element of live electronics. His work questions the idea of authorship in classical music, and encourages advocacy for the performer. James’ work has been performed internationally at various festivals, conferences and showcases including the Navy Saxophone Symposium and the Cohen New Works Festival
